Installation Process

How Solar Installation Works

From consultation to clean energy — the complete installation process, in four steps.

The four-step installation process

01

Online Consultation

Fill in address and recent 12 months electricity bills.

02

Site Survey

BESTAR ENERGY engineers survey roof and electricity needs.

03

Installation

Professional team installs, ensuring quality and safety.

04

Usage

Start enjoying clean energy with substantially lower power bills.

Step by step

What actually happens at each step

Beyond the diagram, here is what each stage actually involves — including the things that can change your quote.

01

What we need from you

The single most useful thing you can send us is your last 12 months of electricity bills. Annual consumption in kWh, and how that consumption splits between day and night, is what actually determines the right system size and whether a battery is worth it for you. Your address lets us check roof orientation, pitch and shading before anyone drives out. If you only have one recent bill, send that — we can work with it and refine later.

02

What the site survey checks

Our engineers look at three things: whether the roof structure and available area can carry the system you want, whether your switchboard and wiring need upgrading to meet current standards, and whether the local network will approve the export capacity. This is also where complications surface — a two-storey install, tile versus metal roof, heavy shading from neighbouring trees, or a switchboard that needs replacing. Anything that changes the quote gets raised here, before you commit.

03

Installation day

Residential installations are typically completed in a single day; commercial projects are staged according to scale and the agreed plan. All work is carried out by appropriately licensed and accredited installers, in accordance with the applicable Australian Standards and electrical safety regulations. Power is off for part of the day while the system is connected — we tell you the expected window in advance so you can plan around it.

04

After it goes live

Once the system is commissioned and connected to the grid, you can track generation and consumption from the monitoring app. Warranties run 25 years on the panels and 10 years on the inverter and battery, per the manufacturers’ own warranty documentation — plus a workmanship warranty on our installation as set out in your contract. Ongoing maintenance is minimal: periodic inspection and an occasional clean when output starts drifting down.
