Use your solar after dark

Panels produce most at midday, when most homes use the least. A battery stores the surplus for the evening peak instead of exporting it for a few cents.

Feed-in tariffs are low

Victoria no longer has a minimum feed-in tariff, so exported solar often earns very little. Every kWh you use yourself is worth your full retail rate.

Backup when you need it

With a backup-capable inverter and wiring, essential circuits stay on during an outage. We design for it when you tell us it matters.

How much does a home battery cost in Melbourne?

On our upfront purchase plan, a 20 kWh battery + 5 kW inverter upgrade starts at $4,398.90 including GST, and a complete 6.6 kW solar + 20 kWh battery system starts at $8,853.90 including GST. Double-storey homes, switchboard upgrades, three-phase power and bigger batteries are quoted separately.

Is the battery rebate already included in the price?

Yes. The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program discounts eligible batteries through STCs, and that discount is already taken off our prices. The discount steps down each year, and we confirm eligibility at the site assessment.

What size battery do I need?

It depends on how much power you use in the evening and early morning, not on the size of the house. Our systems are configurable from 10 to 30 kWh. Send us a few quarters of bills and we'll size it to your actual usage rather than upselling capacity you won't use.

Which battery brands do you install?

We currently install modular batteries from Sofar, Fox ESS and GoodWe, which can be expanded later. Capacities and specs for each model are on our batteries product page.

Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?

Only if the system is set up for backup — the inverter and the wiring both have to support it. Not every battery system provides blackout power by default. If backup matters to you, tell us when you enquire and we'll design the system for it.

What warranty comes with the battery?

Batteries carry a 10-year manufacturer's product warranty — the actual terms, conditions and exclusions are set out in the manufacturer's warranty documentation. We separately provide a workmanship warranty on our installation as set out in your contract. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected.
